 FAQs

  • Our essential items are made available without a price tag by collecting recyclables.

The Community Chest partners with First Presbyterian Church, Legacy Christian, and FPU to collect recyclables from their respective congregations and student body.

The recyclables are then redeemed for their cash value to help fund our mission.

  • While we have a selection of free, travel sized hygiene items available, our retail sized products require customers to give something. What they give though, is up to them!

Customers can give with cash, card, Venmo, Cashapp, and even with CRV labeled recyclables!

  • At the Community Chest we believe that all people should have access to life's essentials.

By eliminating barriers to entry, the Community Chest is a space where people of all socioeconomic backgrounds can shop together, thus reflecting the will and kingdom of God.

  • Community Chest is about more than just material goods, so if you come shop at our Downtown store, feel free to stick around a little while!

Part of our re-imagined shopping experience is inviting customers to stick around for a meal and build community with our volunteers and other shoppers.
